Bicentennial School

Welcome Back!

We are really looking forward to welcoming both new and returning students to Bicentennial school on September 8th. We are currently in the process of developing the back to school plan for our school which aligns with the provincial back to school plan put out by the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development. We recognize that the start up to the school year is going to look very different than in years past as we are still in the midst of a global pandemic. We need to work together (home and school) in support of the directives put out by public health to ensure that students and staff have the safest return possible. Over the next couple of weeks, we will be sending out daily email communication to explain the different aspects of the plan. We will also be adding the updates to our school website. Please note that we recognize that there will be a significant amount of information to be shared and we ask that you are patient with us as we work to provide you with the details. We also ask for your understanding that despite our best efforts to develop the plans, they are subject to change based on new information from public health. We will do our best to keep you updated every step of the way. Our goal will be to chunk the information in reasonable sections so that it allows you and your family to properly plan and be prepared for school re-opening. The first communication will be sent out this week and have information about our new expectations and procedures for student safety. The following communication will have details about the first day of school. In the meantime, we encourage families to continue to talk about proper hand washing, wearing masks and practising social distancing with your children. We appreciate you taking on this shared responsibility to ensure that we have a smooth transition back to school.
